Yesterday we held our first workshop as part of the Camden Create festival.
We shared some of the emerging trends we've been seeing here at Forum for the Future but we also heard from the brilliant participants about the trends they feel were most going to impact on their lives in the next 5 years.
It was a pretty diverse set of answers – from nano tech to web schooling through to the growth of sensors and community energy right through to feeling fractured due to technology use, shifting identity and an obsession with health.
But it made us reminded us that you FutureShapers are a pretty curious bunch, embracing change and always scanning for new ideas & connections. So we’d love to hear from others in the network about what trend do you think will most impact you in the next 5 years? We’re thinking we’d like to curate a bank of FutureShaper sourced future trends that we can all use – so drop us an email with your answer or tweet it tagging; #futureshapers
Some of the other questions we explored were:
Q. Where does your creativity from? With FutureShapers being a creative bunch – the answers were pretty diverse
Q. Where does real change come from? Is it ourselves or does big business hold the power?
Q. What type of support do you think you’d need in the future? We spoke about having access to knowledge, having connections, being able to navigate uncertainty – right through to practical things like visas and being able to sleep efficiently!
It was a short session, but we hope we’ll be able to continue to explore some of these themes at our up-coming sessions in Berlin and London – and explore how together we’ll be able to do more in the future.
But a big thanks to those of us that joined us in Camden & if you couldn't make it, check out some of our photos from behind the scenes.
